Fire fighters and the rubble frame the former General Motors World Headquarters and the Fisher Building in the nearby New Center district of Detroit.  Piquette Avenue is often acknowledged at the cradle of the automobile industry.  Not a block away stands the Ford Piquette Plant, the site where the Model T was designed and the first few thousand copies were manufactured.

The view from Piquette and Brush.  While exterior portions of the building across Brush briefly caught fire, the narrow street proved and effective fire barrier and the fire stopped here.
