FORT WAYNE

If an attacking force succeeded in entering the dry moat, they would have faced a deadly enfilade fire from cannon ports like this one in the Southeast bastion.  Cannon ports in each of the fort's four bastions guarded the other bastions to the right and left by allowing the cannon to sweep the walls of any attackers that may attempt to scale them.
