Spinning the
discs on the main stage, when I arrived, was the incomparable DJ Sneak
from Chicago. While techno beat and rave culture had much of its origin
amid the ruins of Detroit, it soon spread around the world.
Center stage at a
rave is the DJ, a solo performer who magically synchronizes the throb of
electronic drum machines with tracks from up to three different LP
records spinning on turntables.
