GREEKTOWN ROLLS THE DICE

About all that remains of the failed Trapper's Alley is its sign.

Greektown became the focal point for downtown survival and revival in the seventies.  Anchoring this effort was the development of Trappers Alley as quaint multi floor mall encasing an alley whose business ventures history dated back to the fur trading days.  The setting in amid the 19th Century structures was splendid and although it experienced some initial success, it was, in the end, a disheartening failure.
