About all that remains of the failed
Trapper's Alley is its sign.
Greektown became the
focal point for downtown survival and revival in the seventies.
Anchoring this effort was the development of Trappers Alley as quaint multi
floor mall encasing an alley whose business ventures history dated
back to the fur trading days. The setting in amid the 19th Century structures
was splendid and although it experienced some initial
success, it was, in the end, a disheartening failure.
