THE DEMISE OF PONTIAC STATE HOSPITAL

Emblematic of the changing treatment of mental illness was this modernist Outpatient Clinic.  The treatment of mental illness moved steadily toward outpatient and pharmaceutical treatment from the 60's onward dooming the Pontiac State Hospital and other mental health hospitals in the state.
