After passing the GAR building, I headed north up the Cass Corridor, to visit remains of Detroit's Chinatown.  This now bleak area was never very large and, in the decades since I have known it, it was always declining.  This stretch, where Peterboro T's into Cass, is about all that remains.  In the seventies, the City of Detroit made a attempt to revive the area by planting trees and narrowing the street, but the downward slide did not stop. Today there no Chinese American business remaining.

Seen in the center is Burton International School, a highly regarded elementary school specializing in education for students from many countries.
