Still standing today the church continues on while the Jeffries Housing comes to an end.

Jeffries Project

Built to create low cost housing, at the same time many nearby beautiful 19th Century homes were falling into ruin, the Jeffries Project quickly evolved into an impersonal, crime ridden environment. Poorly managed, it became largely vacated as residents opted for the surfeit of low costs homes and apartments left in wake of the mass suburbanization of  Detroit.
