Bearing trademark blue windows of Motown, said to keep out devils in an African mythology, the Motown headquarters have steadily decayed since Motown left Detroit for Los Angeles.

Motown

Growing from a string of gold and platinum hits, Gordy expanded his operations to 2457 Woodward, just north of the Fox Theater, in 1968. 

In 1972 he abandoned Detroit for Los Angeles.  The Motown Buildings, as they are now known, have sat empty ever since.

With the revival of the Fox Town area and the Woodward corridor, developers recently presented plans to create a large Motown theme district incorporating the Motown buildings
