Healthcare Reform or Tort Reform?

The GOP has adopted one of their favorite talking points to help defeat healthcare reform. Instead of offering a better plan, or even a plan, they're suggesting that we enact TORT REFORM. Unfortunately, if they ever paid attention to statistics, they'd realize that not only are lawsuits not contributing to insurance rates, but states that have enacted tort reform are seeing higher malpractice insurance rates than those that haven't. The alternative plan is privatization with the suggestion of HSA's as a good vehicle for insurance that individuals could CHOOSE to exercise, amongst many other private options, using the moneys currently being STOLEN and used to fund the entitlements that are failing.

The Congressional Oversight Panel released its monthly report for July last week, bringing some much needed scrutiny to the repayment of TARP funds and the Treasury Department's questionable oversight of that process. Health Insurance Industry Releases Ad Thanking Max Baucus For Screwing Over The American People

Montana Senator Max Baucus has made some health insurance executives very, very happy. As you may have heard, the Senate Finance Committee, which Baucus chairs, has crafted a "bipartisan", or "crappy", compromise leaving out both a public option and employer mandate.

The insurance industry is so thrilled with Baucus, that they released this ad thanking him for his work in screwing over the American people. Take a look.

You have to admire the gumption of Baucus and the Blue Dogs. Ignoring the will of the people. Happy to derail the Democratic party agenda. Stabbing their President in the back.

And they have to be smart enough to realize that if Obama fails, their congressional seats and their Democratic majorities are in greater danger. But they don't care about any of that. They're blissfully out in the open about being bought and paid for, and their corporate donors are thrilled. It's safe to say that every penny they spent buying Max Baucus was worth it's weight in legislative gold.

The other side will reject it because they have become the party of obstruction, they are desperately trying to cause Obama's "waterloo", as they accidentally let their motives slip out.

Hopefully voters will remember that when the next election comes around, how the Re-pubs are trying to destroy the country just so it will make the president look bad. They obviously care more about winning than the good of America.
