Default Is America Yearning for Fascism?

The similarities between the former Bush Administration and those of a fascist government were overwhelming. And when a recent billboard popped up with a photo of W and the caption Miss Me Yet? it has to make you wonder whether or not Americans actually prefer a fascist form of government. That's exactly the question that best-selling author Chris Hedges has posed and he recently spoke to Ring of Fire's Mike Papantonio about his reasoning behind this very serious observation.
    Is America ‘Yearning for Fascism’?

Default Papantonio: BP - The Manslaughter Felon

Mike Papantonio of Ring of Fire Radio discusses the history of BP and Halliburton including their past as convicted felons. These two felons are responsible for the oil spill that is dumping millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico and we're supposed to expect them to tell us the truth about what happened? Given their histories that seems highly unlikely.

Default Papantonio: Salazar, Another Industry Hack

Ken Salazar is threatening BP by telling them that if they don't get their act together he might be forced to take control of the oil spill disaster that they've caused. However, given Salazar's history as a man who consistently fought for the rights of oil and gas companies, that seems highly unlikely. Mike Papantonio appears on GritTV with Laura Flanders to tell us why Ken Salazar is just another worthless political hack.

Default Papantonio: BP Leak Will Stop When Oil Well Runs Dry

Will BP's oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico ever stop? According to some experts the answer to that question is "no" and based on what we've seen from BP they don't seem to be getting any closer to stopping it either. Mike Papantonio appears on MSNBC's Hardball to discuss the latest developments in the case and we'll find out why Ken Salazar is still letting BP call the shots.

Default Papantonio: BP Spill - Teabaggers Want Big Government Now

There is increased heat on the White House to do more about the Gulf oil spill with Senator Nelson saying that it's time for Obama and the military to step it up on the oil spill. But with the oil industry and the government sharing such a cozy relationship - to the point where the government allowed BP to write its own evaluations - is it even possible for the government to do anything? Mike Papantonio appears on MSNBC's The Ed Show to talk about what could possibly be done.

Default Papantonio: Time to Prosecute BP

The company that owns the sunken Deepwater Horizon rig argued in federal court Tuesday that plaintiffs should not begin collecting evidence and testimony on the Gulf oil spill until the November deadline for claimants to file suit. Transocean Ltd. made its arguments in Houston after the federal court there accepted the company's petition to limit its liability in the oil spill to less than $27 million, the amount the company says the sunken rig is worth. U.S. District Judge Keith Ellison made no rulings Tuesday but he scheduled two more court dates for early June noting he wants to focus on whether the suit should remain in Texas or move elsewhere and whether depositions should begin immediately. Mike Papantonio appears on The Ed Show on MSNBC to talk about some of the problems that the lawsuit is already running into.

Default RFK, Jr. and Laura Turner Discuss Environmental Toxins

A report released last week showed a strong relationship between pesticides and other chemicals used on food products and health problems in our kids such as attention deficit disorder. Because of known dangers of pesticides in humans, the EPA limits how much residue can stay on food. But the new study shows it's possible even tiny, allowable amounts of pesticide may affect brain chemistry. But it isn't just pesticides that are hurting us from the inside -- there are other chemicals that get into our bodies and can cause all sorts of issues. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. talks about how we can avoid exposure to these daily toxins with activist Laura Turner Seydel.

Default Papantonio: Eric Holder Get Busy With BP

Attorney General Eric Holder is on his way to the Gulf Coast to meet with State Attorney Generals about the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Mike Papantonio says no and he recently went on Hardball with Chris Matthews to tell us why, as well as to discuss the latest developments in the case.

Default Papantonio: BP - The Cheney Slime Gets Thicker

As new information pours out everyday that BP's underwater oil geyser continues to erupt, Dick Cheney's involvement becomes more and more clear. With the recent announcement by BP that they would be hiring a former Cheney spokeswoman to handle their PR, we have to wonder how deep this incestuous relationship really goes. Mike Papantonio appears on MSNBC's The Ed Show to discuss the details.

    Default Papantonio: BP's Republican Circus

As we approach the 50-day mark for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill citizens across the Gulf Coast are growing increasingly angry over the disaster response. Haley Barbour, governor of Mississippi, is angry with the Obama Administration even though he says that we need to expand offshore oil drilling in the Gulf. BP CEO Tony Hayward "wants his life back." And the body count for animals like dolphins and pelicans continues to rise. Mike Papantonio appears on MSNBC's The Ed Show to give us the latest updates on the spill.

Default Papantonio: BP's PR Machine Goes Into Overdrive

Oil continues to gush into the Gulf of Mexico from BP's Deepwater Horizon rig but something else has been gushing too lately: BP's public relations offensive. From controlling media access to the site, as Mac McClelland reported to us last week, to buying up search terms on the Web so that Google drives traffic to BP's own website, the oil company seems determined to burnish its image even as its oil continues to cover the coasts. Mike Papantonio joins Laura Flanders on GritTV to discuss the ongoing PR offensive from BP--and whether we should buy any of it.

Here's Mike's latest appearance on Hardball with Chris Matthews.

    Default Fighting Corporate Campaign Influence

When the Supreme Court issued their ruling earlier this year in the Citizens' United case they opened the floodgates for corporate money to finally have complete control over our election process. Luckily there are still a few members of congress willing to fight for us and now legislation has been introduced that would force corporations to disclose what they pay for. For example, if Exxon wants to run a smear campaign against a Democratic Senator, that ad must clearly state that Exxon paid for it. That's just one of the many items featured in legislation proposed by Congressman Chris Van Hollen and he recently spoke to Mike Papantonio about how he's working to undo the damage caused by our Supreme Court.

Default RFK, Jr. Discusses Health Effects of Oil Spill

While most of the news reports on BP's oil geyser in the Gulf of Mexico have focused on the environmental impact of the oil, very few are talking about an equally serious issue which is the impact this oil is going to have on human health. And to complicate the matter BP is dumping dangerous dispersant chemicals on the oil that have been banned in other areas of the world because they can be even deadlier than the oil. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. talks about some of the potential impacts we could witness as a result of this oil spill with Dr. Riki Ott, one of the leading experts on the impact of oil spills on human health.
