Not every night but a few times outside my front window[[i live on woodward) this male prostitute stands on the corner touching himself. At first I thought it was just some crazy guy, until cars started pulling over and he would audition for them! Living on Woodward is quite a trip. Always something going on to get my attention.

Riding my bike on Fort St. by Livernois I saw a prostitute grinding herelf on a fire hydrant. Guess she was trying to put her own fire out.

Ok apparently seeing someone take a crap on the corner isnt as disgusting as I once thought in the corridor, but I will justify the true disgusting nature of this incident, where I looked over on the corner of Martin Luther and Third and seen a very obese woman just hike her skirt and crap, while people walked past, drove past and acted as nothing was happening. What I found the most disgusting aspect of this was the Detroit Police Officer that was stopped at the redlight watching her and laughing until the light turned green, and he drove off.
Now to make matters ever so more disgusting we will fast forward a few years, and I am awakened in the middle of the night 2:30ish to a call that my brothers car would not start outside of Jumbos Bar would I please come get it running so he could get up and go to work, the next morning.... Like a good brother I hopped out of bed and headed to the parking lot to jump his car. while allowing the battery to charge I realized I had to Pee, Being the modest fellow I am I walked clear behind the bar , out of sight of the world, behind a large dumpster and when i walked back around the corner
a Detroit Police Officer was there questioning my brother then proceeded to give me a ticket for disordely conduct although he never seen me do anything wrong...... That sir was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen while in Detroit.

So many stories like this - why in the world do you think people get to be like this? Surely this woman was not raised to think this is acceptable behavior.

I live in Hazel Park on a really nice street down from an elementary school. One summer Saturday morning my husband and I were getting ready to have breakfast in our Florida room on the front of the house. Two early teen black boys were walking down the sidewalk in front of the house, one proceeded to pull his business out of his pants and urinate on the sidewalk. I was FURIOUS - and yelled at him through the window. His friend was saying "I told him not to! I told him not to!". He just put it back and kept on walking, didn't even bat an eye, or look the least bit embarrassed or ashamed.

Where does this mentality come from? I just don't get it.

What I don't get is why the race of the boys matter in the story. Was it pivitol to the story, or add context to it?

What if it were 'two early teen white boys" and the story took place in Detroit?

What if they were in their early 20s.

Stories are boring without a little description.

I get called white boy all the time on my block but never thought twice about it.

    Just sayin.

Did he know his killer, as do 80% of the victims?

This was/is a sad fact in many, if not most murder cases.

They never found his murder and I dont think they cared to look. He was a black gay man so the cops really could have cared less and acted like it too. I'm pretty sure he went down to the adult movie house on 6 and woodward and picked up a trick and the trick slit his throat when he got into the apartment.

Growing up in Detroit in the 1940s, we thought that the purpose for putting the telephone poles in the alleys was to provide urinals for small boys on their way home from school.

    exmotowner, wait a second...

You are upset that people are making judgements and assumptions about suburbanites, then in your next breath you make assumptions about both cops and gay, black men.

    Huh?

    Doc backs nose picking
Picking your nose and eating it is one of the best ways to stay healthy, according to a top Austrian doctor. Innsbruck-based lung specialist Prof Dr Friedrich Bischinger said people who pick their noses with their fingers were healthy, happier and probably better in tune with their bodies.

He says society should adopt a new approach to nose picking and encourage children to take it up.

Dr Bischinger said: “With the finger you can get to places you just can’t reach with a handkerchief, keeping your nose far cleaner. “And eating the dry remains of what you pull out is a great way of strengthening the body’s immune system. “Medically it makes great sense and is a perfectly natural thing to do. In terms of the immune system the nose is a filter in which a great deal of bacteria are collected, and when this mixture arrives in the intestines it works just like a medicine. “Modern medicine is constantly trying to do the same thing through far more complicated methods, people who pick their nose and eat it get a natural boost to their immune system for free.” —Ananova
