If he can't manage his own financial affairs, why would he be trusted with the public purse?
If he can't manage his own financial affairs, why would he be trusted with the public purse?
But does it matter that it's out? Do Detroit voters care? How many of the top vote getters had/have financial problems/issues?
Sometimes it seems voters in Detroit will oust Bing for cutting union jobs while voting in people who can't handle their own finances.
It only matters now because it shows the candidates are like so many other Detroiters. Pugh's case is somewhat different to me however. He was so in the public's eye and assumptions were he was making a decent salary. Perhaps, his passion is in politics.
Bing is doing the same thing Kwame did. Lay off some workers, but rather than manage the rest of the employees or resources more efficiently, he simply gives contracts to his friends. There's no overall cost savings, just a shift in who gets the money. Once you see a reduction in workforce with no corresponding contract, then you'll know that someone's for real. Bing may claim he's not a politician. But what has he really done that is so different from Kwame?
