Default University of Wayne State Pennsylvania???

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...s/73546247007/

    Buyer beware...

"The Ministry of Higher Education Commission describes itself as a college accreditor, and Jones International, Southern Vermont and Urbana University claim it approved their operations...

"It also claims dozens of clearly fictitious schools, like “University of Wayne State Pennsylvania.” That school’s website appears to be an amalgamation of Wayne State University, a public school in Detroit, and Pennsylvania State University. “New York Central University” evokes New York University, with a logo reminiscent of the iconic NYU torch."

All aboard the financial aid train!! Seriously though, the college funding system needs a thorough look and re think. Government financial aid programs are funding the bulk of college revenue making the space fertile ground for scam artists.

Agreed, most things need reform, but Congress only wants to investigate Benghazi and such. Meanwhile, the country continues to falter.

P.S. One upon a time, state college tuition and textbooks were affordable. IIRC that began to change when Reagan was California's governor. Politicians in one state after another began to oppose higher education and even primary and secondary education because educated kids were war resisting kids.

I hope the author {of Zombie colleges...} doesn't think counterfeit websites are anything new. They're not. Maybe he has discovered a sharp increase in the creation of counterfeit websites. That would be truly newsworthy.

It's tempting to wonder why people put so much effort into constructing scams when they could more profitably apply that same energy to legitimate businesses.

It seems the supply of such talent is far greater than the legitimate demand. Hence the growth in "bullshit jobs"?

P.S. AFAIK these zombie universities don't get government funding. They want money for nothing from gullible kids. Based on lessons learned from Trump University, they probably don't take checks or credit cards... probably just cash in unmarked bills.

It matters not. As we learned from Uncle Joe's Prep School for Libbey's, they'll get reimbursed for their "tuition" by the American tax payer. After all, it's not the kid's fault after 12 years of schooling, they're still dumb and gullible.

The party of the people is creating a situation where only the rich will be able to go to college by design,or one’s that can afford to put up the full amount.

If you were a lender moving forward would you risk giving somebody a student loan that could be forgiven and you end up holding the bag?

It’s going to be like it was before,if you cannot afford to go to college and pay out of your pocket without loans, you will not go.

Too many educated workers and not enough burger flippers,if people become educated and make a good wage it’s hard to control them by offering free stuff to desperate people.

It’s not student loan forgiveness to give the students a break,it’s student loan forgiveness to get the financial arm out of the business.

People are more compliant when they are desperate.

Cause and effect with social experiments. All of those who sacrificed and worked their ass off with sometimes 2 jobs to put themselves through collage now get to help foot the bill, while getting a slap in the face.

Do not need smart people anymore, with AÍ and Google educated people are obsolete.

that’s the socialist fantasy and propaganda tool for the weak minded that the education system teaches.

A majority of the rich started with nothing, they became rich because everybody that tried to eat them along the way failed.

Apparently even the highly educated socialist wannabes cannot even see that even in their utopian socialist societies the rich are still rich and the poor are still poor.

So when it comes down to it the rich will be eating steak while the little socialist followers will be dining on solent green.

Average salary in Cuba is $14 per month, how come the unions do not go over there and unionize the workers for better pay?

Even a highly educated doctor gets the same amount as a janitor.

Scam universities have been around before you were born, seems like a lot of this stuff is like one’s first day at the rodeo.

How was Harvard not a scam university if you could buy your way in ?

The scam is making people believe they are useless in society without an educational piece of paper.

Henry Ford had a 6 th grade level of education and many others that created inventions that changed the world had little if any formal education.

Why does one need to go to a college to learn while paying all kinds of money in order to use the brains that god gave them in the first place,my sister has a masters in child physiology, spent hundreds of thousands and a better part of her life in the educational system but has never worked a day in her life.

So you could say she is highly educated and because of that she is an asset to society and is held to a higher standard then the other uneducated smucks but at the end of the day wooden nickels are still not an excepted form of currency.

Considering the product a majority of universities are putting out anymore 3/4 of them could go away and nobody would notice.

There is a free university in Tennessee,it started before the civil war,if you are poor and from the south you can go,it’s accredited and 100% alumni supported.

Its produced lots of senators, congressmen, doctors, lawyers etc.

They did not spend their life thinking and planning on how to eat the rich, they used the same energy in a positive way and became rich or comfortable.

They say you are what you eat - the little socialist wannabes want to eat the rich so they can become rich, they have not figured out it is all about state of mind and not wanting to be a little socialist slug slithering around life expecting other to pay their way so they do not have to work.

The funny thing is the socialist and progressives in this country would not last 5 minutes in the dream world they want to create,as they act like they are coming up with something new, while totally ignoring the fact that that form of mentality has been around for centuries and has never worked long term.

It's not much different than private industry... where corporations pay their employees tuition to continue their college education. That money isn't from a corporations largesse... but from their customer base, who pays via higher costs for the employees education. Of course not all corporations do that... for example you wouldn't find Tyson Chicken employees offered that perk... they might wise up and leave the company with their higher education... and then Uncle Donald wouldn't necessarily have his pick of the chix followers base... with or without a dance pole...

I had an acquaintance person that worked for GE,one of those really smart people that have zero common sense, they paid for his education to learn how to work on the wind turbines.

Pretty good gig ,made your high paid salary to sit home and be ready for when that call came in,sometimes 2 months at a time, they covered all expenses.

He screwed that up,so they sent him back to school to learn how to repair steam propulsion generator plants.

After they paid for 6 months of school while he was as collecting his $5k a month salary,he decided he did not want to do that.

Lots of companies have tried the apprenticeship route, the dumb orange guy tried to implement a countrywide program that would have helped a lot of people out across the spectrum but the guy that was appointed to it got triggered over his personal feelings and decided to throw thousands under the bus and deprive them of a good future.

Ford was not an engineer until he went to work for Edison and then he became one.

The education system sells a dream that if you get a professional education your future is secure but then most that become educated become book smart and cannot think outside of what that book tells them.

It’s like artists, why do you need to go to collage and in debt to get a liberal arts degree, either you have that talent or you do not,I do not think it can be taught.

I think everybody has a natural talent, something they are good at,they may not know it but you cannot really teach something to somebody when they already have that talent in their DNA.

Pole or not gold diggers will always be around, right next to hussies and opportunists.

I have a hard time remembering why I went into a room let alone the minute details of somebody I may have boinked 25 years ago even more so back then when it was hookers n blow and only the ones with means could afford it.

A pole cat is a pole cat, there are probably 100s she could pick out to target but if you want the big money you have to target the high profile.

Back to sham university’s,I watched a program about a university in the UK,it was established solely to establish those looking to immigrant with visas and they were also collecting UK benefits in the process.

They found out 60% of the students never even attended one class, the staff was there all day fabricating records.

^ Although we all have anecdotes about people with a masters degree working at book stores, I can relate to some of your comments.

I am rather appalled that schools want to eliminate cursive... granted most of us don't use a pen all that much, as I am reminded whenever I make out one of the very few checks that I keep at my disposal.

At age 40 I went back to get my masters degree in computing, and as good as that was in technical experience... it will not help you if you want to look for a better job at age 50. Corporate America wants you to be young AND educated AND have prior experience. But once you hit a certain age, the educated and prior experience parts don't mean so much to companies.

Wow! The intent of my OP "University Of Wayne State Pennsylvania???" was to warn people away from paying for zombie degrees; but the issue became a culture-war football quicker than Donald could say "Honeybunch, you remind me of my daughter."

P.S. Just for the record, IFAIK zero government grants or bank loans go to these fly-by-night colleges. But there's always going to be some ignorant cack like Richard the Turd who may fall for it.

Talk about crack heads - you created a fake name and created a post that has no relevance to anything.

Wayne State offers online courses, you can live in Pennsylvania a get a degree from them.

The article was about using a fake university online as a tool to get people to divulge personal information for sale or fraud.

What was your intent- to warn people that there are people and sites out there gleaning your personal information for profit and fraud or there are people establishing non accredited universities that a 6 year old with a computer can verify?

The link you provided did the same thing I did or what you called me names like a little child, you seem to have enough issues with yourself that you need to address before you are in a position to warn others about anything.

What’s next - breaking news that water is wet?

Of course you are going to favor what you do because you have no clue as to the difference between foreign and domestic policy and if you are going to favor anything that involves everybody else paying your way like a good little socialist,it’s what they do because they think it’s all free money.

This is laughably false and is the opinion of the morons who are against high taxes on rich people based on the impossible goal of being rich themselves one day.

Agreed. Demonstrably false by all metrics and a topic that has been studied and verified for a very long time. But apart from the obvious discrepancies due to parental income and multi-generational wealth, how can one say that belonging or not to a ruling class family won't statistically determine someone's outcome.

The work ethic in the US is still commendable, and the access to higher ed and better jobs is still strong. That is less of a problem than some would have us believe. But then, some people called Dick will tell you they don't need an education to build the fancy weaponry they get hard on.

Just one of endless shit storm of ludicrous opinions from Richard the Turd. IIRC people used to be smarter than they are now, and better able to think for themselves

P.S. In an earlier rant he argued that the University of Wayne State Pennsylvania ??? might be a legitimate extension of WSU.

There is a tutorial on the site that explains how to do exactly that but it’s not like an airport where you need to announce departures.

Maybe Thats the problem,The tutorial is more then 3 words which makes it tough to comprehend apparently.

It’s not a dating site and you do not get trophies for being the popular one.

I find it interesting how a singular person feels like they are representative of everybody else ,349 billion other people in this country alone could care less if you approve of my posts or not.

You seem more worried about the loss of business opportunity for these dud universities, less about the consumer of said "product".

Why am I not surprised, again?

Well, for one thing, you've repeated more than once your opinion of higher education as something superfluous. Why should anyone want to spend 8 years to become a cosmologist when one year in cosmetology will set you jp for life.

Apparently you cannot fix stupidity because in the days of the internet it takes all of 5 seconds to verify or validate anything.

And apparently reading comprehension is not included in education anymore.

Read the OP - the article was about using a fake university website to gain private financial information for fraud ,then they went on a tangent of fake universities that claim to provide an education kinda like you and others did.

There are tons of fake websites out there whose only purpose is to glean private information about you and never really sell any products, look on Facebook or marketplace.

No different then it has always been - buyer beware but easier now to search and verify.

But please do not pass up an opportunity to make it about me personally sense some seem to have nothing better in life to do.

Just like the poster who said there are no millionaires that started with nothing and I was full of BS,like there is no way to actually verify it so just jump in there and call somebody else out for something that is as stupid as that.

So I gave Henry Ford as an example easy enough to call me out - provide his documented level of education and prove me wrong - it’s not like it is secret or takes more then 2 seconds to verify.

That would be directed at a DR - a person who is considered educated calling somebody out on the Internet over something that a 6 year old without an education can find out online in about 6 seconds.

So remind me of how the educated are actually smart?

Being educated in a particular field makes you educated in that field or is supposed to,most educated that step out of that box are no smarter then the next guy and being educated does not make you better then everybody else or smarter as some feel they bought that right with an education.

And very few that claim they are educated are actually not or do not understand that to be educated means that you never stop learning and listening to different ideas for your life time.

They may have went to college to learn how to do a particular task but if that opportunity is not there they have to go back and get another education on how to do another task.

That’s not an education, that is taking a training course and because you did it does not mean you are now educated or even understand the meaning of being educated.

That is the difference between an educated person and an innovator,an educated person will never become an innovator and will never have success outside of those parameters that are set while they are being educated, because they are taught to not be self thinkers and to not think outside of the box, they are taught to follow the book as written and do not deviate from that.

That’s why the DR showed hatred towards the millionaires and billionaires and cannot comprehend one’s ability to think for themselves and they cannot understand how somebody can be successful without an education because that is what they were taught while getting their education.

You will be nothing without an education,so pay me $300,000 and I will provide you with an education so you can feel like you are better than everybody else.

So who really is the suckers and scammers of society ?
