Considering Detroit has very few downtown alleyways to begin with, I question the factual accuracy of this story. Most alleyways in Detroit are pretty exposed due to a lack of buildings and those that are long enough to look anything like that picture in the story are usually filled with construction equipment.
The alley shot is one of a downtown Vancouver lane, apparently.
I am guessing that 350$ worth of stolen stuff, they must have been carrying some inflatable Marshall amps in their jackets...
Just more false Detroit bashing by people who have probably not even been here.
The big picture of the alley has a BFI dumpster with the phone number 525-2072.
The area code for a BFI number ending in 525-2072 is [[604), which is in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Also, this "Rick Caldwell" of the Detroit Police doesn't seem to exist. They don't name where this alley was. There's a lot of missing details.
Also, the band ClearlyxStraight doesn't seem to exist, nor does their referenced Facebook page.

Also, this appears to be a satire punk band news site...
satire can be really funny

What, they couldn't find a photo of a Detroit alley? I know we're depopulating, but there must be a good, dark alley in Detroit? Doesn't our CVB have photos of the alley behind the Wurlitzer building available for the press? I haven't gone looking lately, but what other good urban downtown alleys are still left?
Also, the sign clearly says "BFI Canada"...Just more false Detroit bashing by people who have probably not even been here.

It's a satire site. Nothing noteworthy for this forum, aside from the fact numerous bands have had their vehicles & equipment stolen in Detroit throughout the years. And, of course, it's happened in other cities, as well.
