From a really tall rooftop in Midtown, we can see a HUGE, tall fire in the far distance, maybe near Jefferson before the Jeffersonian. It appears that it would have to be a pretty tall building....

Have fun at the seder! Most synagogues have kippot, and the Downtown Synagogue might loan you one if you need it.
Segregation isn't just about numbers. It's about a state of mind.
We are still segregated.
The owners have a special place in preservation heaven. Not only for restoring that house, but for all of the other ways they have shown community support in the past. Salute!

Oh, also Detroitej72- did you see what I wrote about them sometimes not paying rent at all?
Really, no back taxes or water bills. He is completely responsible, which is why he doesn't want to commit fraud and have a tenant 'knock a candle over" lol.
Detroitej1792, was that sarcasm?...

I do sincerely...
Unfortunately, no. The address was an anonymous one, anyway. I hope they found some answers :[[
I found this plea on craigslist.org:

It's a short sale. And, it's not too far off from what a friend of mine paid on the same block not that long ago.
Keep in mind the taxes can be horrendous.
I guess "in sickness and in health" has no meaning to some people.
I am taken aback at the title of this thread. No one is "closing" neighborhoods.
Also, I see people wanting to see the "plan" done and announced, while others foam at the mouth at the though of it...
I agree with Gnome. Go with what you know. Otherwise, frankly, you are much more likely to fail. I hate to be so blunt, but I have seen so many people go into business for the sake of "hey, wouldn't...
Perhaps I can provide a quick, easy answer directly from the horse's mouth:
Not enough room in the house. John and I talked last year about business. He hoped to expand, saying that people didn't...
