standing though severely abused with a sloppily painted
front, Henry Ford's first big factory on Piquette Ave. at
John R St. was the womb from which a mighty corporation

Ford
Piquette Plant
Piquette
Avenue is a short street with a deep history. From the turn of
the 20th Century through the twenties, Piquette Avenue would
be the womb for a number famous automobile companies.
It
was here that Henry Ford established his first big plant, the
Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, in 1904. It was here that
he first produced his famous Model T automobile in 1908. Its
popularity led to the construction of the Highland
Park Model T Plant starting in 1909.
