Among the pieces destroyed by the city of Detroit in May 1999 was this charmingly recycled bus.

 

Heidelberg Project

Heidelberg Street lives on in a diminished yet still intact state, a thorn in the side of the city and a burden to the artist. All the effort and expense that the city has employed in attacking the project has had no effect on the surrounding neighborhood.  It still remains an underserved area of abandoned city owned buildings and overgrown lots.
