In
a gallery space rivaling in elegance any of those in the Detroit
Institute of Arts, these six foot high accomplished paintings
of some brave but unknown artists are some of many adorning
the walls inside the abandoned Michigan Central station.
Art
Among the Ruins
The
ruins of Detroit have not been bad for the the arts.
Amid the ruins and perhaps because of them a culture of underground
and counter cultural arts has blossomed.
The
surfeit of abandoned buildings have provided inspiration,
materials and low cost studios for visual artist and musicians,
walls for graffiti artists, venues for rock concerts and techno
beat raves.
